Istuin eilen työhuoneessani näpräten viimeistelyjä tälle asetelmalle. Siinä olevat esineet ovat kulkeneet pitkänkin matkan mukanani. Tärpättiastian sain äidiltäni 18 vuotiaana maalaustelineen mukana. Tjanting on opiskeluajan ostoksia. Vanha naula on löytynyt talomme alta ja silitysrauta on anopin lapsuuden tavaroista. Sen vuoksi taulun nimi voisikin olla muistojen esineitä. Pohjana on liitupohjan MDF:lle, mille olikin miellyttävää ja samettista maalata.
Yesterday I was in my study making some finishing touches to this painting. Some of the objects in the painting have come a long way with me. The round turpentine bowls I got from my mother with a painting kit when I was 18. The tjanting I bought when I was studying. The old nail was found under our house and the iron was my mother in law's childhood toy. So the name of the painting could be memorabilia. The board is MDF and I layed a chalk foundation under it. it was very pleasant to paint on and it felt like velvet.
